Volunteer

Our doulas have been supporting birthing people through our volunteer program for over 20 years! We work closely with nurse family partnership to find families who need more support during their birthing times and match them with doulas who are looking to gain experience and give back to the community.

This program involves Doulas donating their time and expertise to birth givers with difficult issues and limited resources. This has proven to be an excellent way for new Doulas to get valuable experience in meeting experience requirements for certification, learning skills, serving the community, and developing confidence as Birth Doulas. This is an additional, optional program offered to our students. It is worth noting that over the years, many Doulas have found this program so rewarding they often continue to donate their time and skills.

Mentorship

Hey, doulas!

When you know in your heart that birth work is your calling but you just aren’t sure how to turn that calling into a living, this mentorship program is for you!

Being a birthkeeper seems so magical and the space so sacred and fragile. And it is! Keeping it that way, maintaining the essence of authentic birthkeeping while also being professional, knowing how to set boundaries, and making money is a delicate balance.

This program will guide you as you find your way to building a profitable birth business that is authentic to who you are AND brings in consistent clients so you can ditch your side-gig and become a full-time birth keeper without ditching your values around birth or your self-worth.

Testimonial

Hi my name is Delores , I am 64 years young. I decided to become a doula on behalf of my niece. I had the best teaching experience from Geneva and Penny. I suggest women to be born of being a birth doula, it has changed my life, I love it. I volunteer as a birth doula now part time.
