This Doula Training Workshop is designed to educate and provide professional expertise to anyone interested in learning how to serve the birth community as a Professional Doula. Penny and Geneva’s training motto is, “every person who hears the call to be a Doula, deserves the opportunity to become one.”

This Doula training will introduce and instill the skills required to comfort and support families during pregnancy, labor, birth and during the first few hours following birth. Participants will become self-assured, nonmedical, labor/support providers. Successful attendees will become qualified in assisting birth-givers and their birth partners and helping them navigate the exciting birth experience.

The Doula Training Weekend will be filled with presentations, videos, roundtable discussions and practical exercises to train, encourage and challenge session participants. The result will be an exciting, rewarding and educational experience in learning the power of the human connection and the wonder of the birth experience.

Penny and Allie also co-facilitate a volunteer doula program. This program involves Doulas donating their time and expertise to birth givers with difficult issues and limited resources. This has proven to be an excellent way for new Doulas to get valuable experience in meeting experience requirements for certification, learning skills, serving the community, and developing confidence as Birth Doulas. This is an additional, optional program offered to our students. It is worth noting that over the years, many Doulas have found this program so rewarding they often continue to donate their time and skills.

This workshop is life-changing, however we find many doulas feel stuck after they leave, not knowing where to start or what their next steps are in their doula work. We offer continued mentorship through Geneva's Holistic Birthkeeper program for doulas who are wanting more guidance along the way as well.

More questions? Please reach out to us! We love talking to new doulas! Let us know how we can make your dream work be a reality and change the world one birth at a time!

birth doula training

We love birth doulas!

As an artist and nurturing human, I felt called to be a doula because I wanted to support birthing people and babies coming into the world! Prior to attending my first doula workshop, I attended my first birth; I was in awe and absolutely loved it. At the doula workshop, the experience of being surrounded by other doulas in the making and Penny and Geneva’s wisdom was inspiring and worthwhile. My favorite part of the workshop was when Geneva showed us a real placenta that she was able to bring to our specific class. I am still on my doula journey and encourage new doulas to show up as their best selves with an open mind and caring heart. With an education as a doula, experience in care providing and as a professional photographer, I will be attending more births and provide birth support as well as photography to birthing people.
